StarHub mobile TV

StarHub is an integrated communications provider in Singapore offering an advanced HSPA+ network for 3G phones. StarHub has launched mobile TV service in 2008, supporting selected handsets via a WAP-based portal and embedded media players.

As mobile TV subscribers grew to more than 100,000 viewers per month, StarHub decided to enhance existing service. It turned to SPB Software to provide a solution that will increase quality, experience and interactivity of mobile TV service.

SPB TV solution was deployed with StarHub’s network infrastructure and billing services. It provided feature-rich software client running on Android, Symbian, iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices. The mobile TV client application enriched end-user experience, enabling mobile TV service subscribers to access TV channels in one click, check channel previews in picture-in-picture mode, access TV guide and set up reminders.
